Big Skills for Big Build is designed to help learners understand the requirements for working in the building and construction industry as part of Victoria’s Big Build and to potentially secure a role within the Major Road Projects Victoria.

- Increasing prospective job seekers’ knowledge of the building and construction industry.
- Understanding employment entitlements (NES) and codes of conduct.
- Building jobseekers’ confidence and self-worth.
- Providing the “work-ready” tools that job seekers need to gain motivation and sustain meaningful – employment.
- Help jobseekers address barriers to employment such as time management, mental health, sociability, and well-being.
- Develop effective communication skills.
- Gain an understanding of the building and construction industry from a work, health, and safety (WHS) perspective.
- Promoting the importance of understanding and adhering to workplace policies and procedures.
- Creating jobseeker knowledge of the career pathway progression and positions available with the industry.
- Helping the industry achieve social procurement benchmarks aligned with Major Roads Project Victoria’s objective.
