This is a pre-employment module aimed at unemployed and underemployed learners who want to gain employment in the care and support industry.

Topics include:
Overview of care and support including the various roles and opportunities available in this industry.
Legislative and ethical considerations in care work. Safe work practices.
Concepts such as person-centered care, social inclusion, respect, and empowerment.
Communication skills and skills to work effectively with others.
Practical skills awareness through guest speakers where possible.
Pathways to further training and/or employment include entry-level support work and a Certificate III in Individual Support.

Eligibility: Must be a permanent resident or have applied for permanent residency to access funded training.
