At Opendoor, we believe that our community is at its strongest when every voice is heard and every journey is valued. From 21–29 March 2026, we’re thrilled to join the rest of Victoria in celebrating Cultural Diversity Week.
This year’s theme, “Culture connects us all,” is a reminder of how sharing our unique intercultural stories creates a deep sense of understanding, belonging, and connection. Victoria has people from more than 300 ancestries speaking nearly 290 languages, and it’s these colourful sounds, tastes, and traditions that make our society so vibrant and enriching.
What’s happening at Opendoor?
We are celebrating with a week filled with reflection and shared cultural experiences:
- Educational excursions: We’ll be heading to Melbourne’s Immigration Museum and to Parliament, and taking a walk across the Sandridge Bridge to reflect on the cultures that have shaped our vibrant city.
- Guest speakers and events: We’re hosting sessions where community members can share their stories and traditions, helping us all learn from one another.
Finding your place through training
Inclusion isn’t just something we celebrate for one week; it’s at the core of everything we do. We’re proud to support people from every walk of life through our diverse training opportunities.
If you’re looking to build your skills or find your place in the community, our Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program is a fantastic place to start. You can also check out our English as an Additional Language (EAL) courses so that you feel more confident in your communication skills when you’re studying or at work.
Get involved!
Cultural Diversity Week is about more than just attending an event. It’s a week to celebrate the unique cultural experiences and backgrounds that make up our collective identity. We encourage you to get involved and to share your story. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
