Cleanable is a commercial cleaning and property maintenance service with a difference. As an Opendoor social enterprise, it provides award-wage jobs to people who have often been overlooked in the workforce – not because of a lack of ability, but because of barriers that can make it harder to get a foot in the door.
The Cleanable team delivers excellent work, day in and day out. From maintaining offices to caring for parks and waterways, their professionalism shines through. Every shift, every contract and every partnership also creates opportunities for people to gain confidence, strengthen skills and build independence.
This year’s impact
The Cleanable Social Impact Report 2024–2025 shows what can be achieved when business and community come together:
22,987 hours of paid employment provided to people seeking meaningful work
38 staff employed, all paid at award wages
$784,106 in wages invested back into households and communities
Over 30,000 kilograms of litter removed from public spaces, making them safer and more welcoming
Expanding into Queensland
A major highlight this year was the launch of Cleanable QLD in Brisbane. In just nine months, the team has:

Built strong operational foundations
Connected with fellow social enterprises including Fruit2Work, Give Industries, Multhana Property Services and White Box Enterprises
This growth has already created new roles for Queenslanders, proving that inclusive employment is good for people, good for business and good for communities.
Partnerships that create change
Partnerships remain at the heart of Cleanable’s success. The ongoing collaboration with Hume City Council sees the team maintain more than 160 parks and green spaces, creating 14 local jobs and keeping neighbourhoods clean and safe. With clients like Nando’s Australia also championing social procurement, Cleanable continues to show how quality services and positive social impact go hand in hand.

With new roles and partnerships on the horizon, Cleanable is well placed for continued growth and on-going support. The focus remains clear: delivering excellent services for clients while creating more opportunities for people to build skills, earn an income and thrive in their communities.
